Flowminder is a non-profit organization that aims to improve public health and welfare in low- and middle-income countries.
Their foundation works with governments, inter-governmental organisations and NGOs to collect and analyze large anonymous data.
We helped them freshen up their corporate identity and build a new digital home.
Given Flowminder’s strong focus on academic work and research, we opted for a simple robust layout that would accommodate long text and a blue color scheme that would inspire trust.
One of the challenges when working with Flominder was the large amount of text as well as long titles of academic papers and studies. To create a clear hierarchy, particularly when searching through a large number of publications, we combined Roboto and Merriweather, two highly legible open source typefaces, and made use of color accents.
In addition we implemented an instant search function to allow users to find what they need as easily and quickly as possible.
The new website contains an improved information architecture, an updated logo and colour palette, as well as custom maps showing where Flowminder is currently working.Visit site
